Poor Jack! I know I'd feel terrible if Bunny suddenly couldn't come hiking with me anymore.

I also understand about the need for time outs. With the puppy here, time outs are a must! When we see Kuster starting to "Hulk out" we send him to the ex pen and let him cool off for a bit.

Sorry to hear that Jack is still having trouble with his leg. That is a bummer. I hate having to leave Zephyr sometimes too. It can really tear you up. They both look great. It sounds, and looks, like Lela is a fun nutty girl. The picture of them with their mouths wide open is great. I'm having fun with Rally. I use the clicker too. I think it really helps them know when they did the right thing and learn faster. I remember you asked about Astro's sits. I think I kind of lucked out with how nice his sits are. But I also use lots of his favorite treats and always try to make things fun and like a game. Oh, and when I started using short, 5 min. or so, training sessions and stopped while he was still excited it really helped. Not that I always succeed and don't get frustrated too. :-)

Hi Renee,
I haven't used the pin press, although I've seen it used in the Akua DVD (oops, almost wrote VHS, Good Lord). I bought a $12 marble rolling pin at a restaurant supply store and it seems to work the same way- not as long, but it may be just as effective.

Jen,
Dave you had the opportunity to use the Akua Pin Press at all? If so, do you have any candid thoughts on the Pin Press? Good to read your thoughts - thinking about making the switch to Akua in my classroom.

I've seen several people get the results back, and they're always surprised! I think it would be something I had to do if I had a mixed breed dog. My curiosity would kill me!

Jack, I have two Greyhounds here who feel the same way you do right now! At least Lela isn't a puppy!

What, no Rhodesian Ridgeback? ;-) The DNA results are really cool. It seems like it got the main breeds, Chow and Beagle. I love it when the dogs go nuts in snow.
